Getting Started
Although the way we do things at ZFS Racing can seem fairly complex when you first look at it, it’s actually quite simple when you get into it. The most basic description for how this works is that you earn virtual credits from your online racing (called ZFS Credits) with us.
You use these credits to buy items, those items can vary from new cars for future leagues/races, to starting up your own racing team to taking license tests. An online experience that tries to create a long term and progressive experience for online racing in GT7.
Step 1) Create your ZFS Account
The first thing to do when starting your ZFS journey is to simply create a ZFS Account, once your account has been created you will have access to our marketplace and will have ability to sign up for races & leagues.
Step 2) Buy a Starter Garage
Once you’ve created an account you’ll need to buy a starter garage to get your ZFS Racing journey truly going! When opening your account you will receive 100,00 ZFSc (ZFS Credits), if you head to our Marketplace you will see there are only Garages available for you to buy, you will see a choice of 4 different Garages that are available to you for less than 100,00 ZFSc. Pick your starting Garage (all starting Garages have 1 slot each for Gr.3 & Gr.4 cars, but you can upgrade this later on if you want!)
Step 3) Claim your free starter cars!
Now you own a Garage when you go back to the Marketplace you’ll see you have more options available to you.
You’ll see a section called ‘Starter Cars’, this area has 4 x Gr.3 & 4 x Gr.4 cars for you to select 1 each for completely free!
Starter cars also don’t take space in your regular Garage, and are accessible for you to use at anytime!
In order to expand your inventory you will need to graduate from the ZFS Academy, this will issue you an Amateur Racing license which entitles you to buy cars from the store
Step 4) Get on track & start racing with the ZFS Academy!
So now you’re set up with a garage and couple of starter cars lets get you racing and get an idea how fast you are (don’t worry though, we have all pace ranges at ZFS Racing!). All new drivers race as part of the ZFS Academy, the academy is a starting space where you get the lite features of ZFS Racing alongside the help and support of our community members to explain how it all works.
Your first race at ZFS Racing is what we call your ‘placement race’, it allows us to understand roughly how fast you are so assign you a starting rating and this is the basis of your first seasons predictions & lobby placement. You can sign up to races by either viewing our list of upcoming leagues or by viewing our race calendar, if a league is in progress you’re more than welcome to race as a ‘drop in driver’ which means your racing but not participating in the league.
In the race details you will find a host, make sure you add this host on PSN so you can find the lobby when race time comes. Ask in discord if there is no host published, as we sometimes have to swap hosts at short notice.
Once you’ve completed your placement race we use a combination of where you finished in that race, what your best lap time was who you raced with and their respective rankings this gives you an initial placement in our ELO Ranking leaderboard, which means for all future races we can place you in the best lobby for your race pace & provide you race targets relative to your performance.
