Frequently Asked Questions

Q) What time do you race, what timezone are you in?
A) All our races take place on 9pm UK time, lobbies up at 8pm UK time.

Q) How do i sign up to join a league/race?
A) Your first step (if you haven’t done so already) is to create a ZFS Account. Once you’ve created an account head to our list of upcoming races & leagues. Once you’ve found something you like, click on it and press on the ‘Register’ button. Fill in the email address if you want a reminder on the day and press submit (some leagues you may need to select a Sponsor when you register).

Q) What happens on race day, how do i actually join the lobby?
A) For each race page on the website, you will see there is a ‘Lobby Host’ showing. If you haven’t already add this person as a friend on PSN. All our races start at 9pm UK time, with lobbies opening for practice at 8pm UK time. Once the lobby has been opened, head to GT7 multiplayer lobbies and filter it to friends only, you can then just join the lobby you have been assigned.

If the race has multiple divisions, then you will see on race day that a list will be published with who is racing in which lobby (this is based on your ZFS rating). We all also add the host for each lobby.

Q) Where can i find the settings for the race?
A) We publish race settings up to 1 week prior to a race in the respective race page on our website. We also publish race settings with our discord server.

Q) I’ve just accidentally punted someone off the track, am I going to get kicked out?
A) No, we would never remove drivers for honest mistakes, we’re all here to learn and improve as drivers and mistakes are going to happen. We wouldn’t abide drivers purposefully taking out other drivers so keep it as clean as you can and try and avoid the red mist, and if you do end up taking out another driver accidentally please have the courtesy to wait up for them and give them position, even if it does drop you really far back in the race.

Q) I’ve just been taken out on track and i’m spitting mad about it, what can I do?
A) All leagues & races are subject to report & review. So if you have a nasty incident on track that’s not your fault and you want it reviewed, please head to racing incidents and fill in our report form. We’ll ensure it’s impartially reviewed and penalties given if appropriate. Please try and avoid it spilling out in shouting matches in our PSN parties, not the vibe we want at ZFS Racing.

Q) Does ZFS use voice chat? Am i required to use voice chat to take part?
A) Yes, most of us are on voice chat for our races, not that we use it like a soap box to put the world to rights during racing. But we do like our drivers to communicate with each other and work together to raise general track/car awareness making for much cleaner racing, and it builts a stronger community spirit when we all start getting to know each other. That being said, joining voice chat is by no means mandatory and if it’s just not you’re thing then that’s totally fine, but we do encourage you to give it a go, we’re a friendly group and the voice chats we have are a big part of that community feeling.

Q) Can i add a ZFS_ to my name? Can i use your liveries etc for when I race?
A) Adding ZFS or using our liveries is an invite only process, that being said we’re not a competitive racing team in a traditional sense, more a racing community that may do competitive stuff in the future. So at ZFS we only have a 2 point checklist that we make sure before asking if people want to adopt our tag/race in our colours 1) Do you attempt to race cleanly? 2) Must not be a chode (definition for chode you will find in https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Chode) Providing you tick the 2 above points, we’ll invite you to adopt our tag/colours if its something you’re interested in taking part in.

Q) Is this community 18+? Am I allowed to swear n shit? Yes we are an 18+ community, the content that you may see in this server or hear in our chats may be… erm… colourful? That being said, we’re not the internet police and not exactly going to be asking people to prove their age. It’s parents responsibility to police their childrens online activities not ours and i’m sure if a 16 year old wanted to see some floppy tits, then there’s more unsavoury places to go see that then our wee racing discord. So take home message is yes, say what you want here, just refer to our golden rule about not being a chode (see 2 questions above for definition), and if you think the language or content we use is too strong then the door is there for you to walk out of.

Q) What is the ranking system? How does it work?
A) To try and rank our drivers we have tried to replicate GT Sports DR system for our league races. Each race you’re awarded or deducted points based on your finishing position and the relevant ranks of those you’re racing against. Beat drivers with a better rank than you and you’ll slide up the leaderboard, lose against drivers with a lower rank and you will slide down. To separate our ranking system from GT Sports DR system, in lieu of using alphabetical characters to represent our rank bandings (S, A, B etc), we instead use a Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond to band out our ranking. When you complete your first few races with us, you will be placed in a starting position based on your initial results, who you’re racing against and where you finish. You will find the ranking and further race analytics (much like Kudos Prime) on here > https://zfsracing.co.uk/zfs-ranking-leaderboards/

Q) If I buy a car in the ZFS Marketplace, does it unlock on Gran Turismo 7?
A) No, our ‘meta-game’ doesn’t have a direct link with Gran Turismo. Buying a car in our marketplace simply makes you eligible to use it in ZFS Inventory leagues & races. You would still need to unlock/buy the car in game in order to take part.

Q) How do I contact someone if there’s a problem or I have a question?
A) Any questions, having problems or anything that doesn’t make sense? Just join our discord server and our team of moderators & the community will be on hand to answer anything that you may need help with.

Q) What is Career Mode? What does that mean?
A) Career mode is a structure we race in that tries to replicate an ‘Online Career Mode’ that you get in other games. You earn virtual credits from your races at ZFS, and you use that item to purchase cars, license test & other items to progress through the ZFS Racing experience.

Q) I’ve just finished season and i’ve been disqualified, why is that?
A) In order to keep participation high, whilst also giving the room to miss occasional races/apply drop rounds to there season, we implemented an SR system that governs drivers attendance. If you turn up for races and don’t get penalties your SR will remain high. If you have a low SR (due to the fact you miss lots of races or smash people off the track) then you will be disqualified from a season if you do not attend all races. This allows us to keep a system where drivers who generally turn up to all races can skip occasional races when real life gets in the way.

Q) Which sponsor do I choose when signing up for a league?
A) If it’s your first ever race at ZFS, then select our first level contract which is currently ‘Colgate’. The sponsors you are allowed to select improve as you increase your prestige rating (think of it like experience points). You will find your prestige rating on our Driver Prestige Data page, check your prestige to see what level you are at and choose your sponsor based on that.
